How to Master Your Emotions

There is a critical paradigm to controlling your emotions that is contrary to what you intuitively believe. Most people think that external circumstances dictate their emotions, the way they feel, or their moods or tempers.

We grow up believing that if misfortune, difficulty, or hardship occurs, we must react negatively, and there’s little we can do to mitigate it. It’s a belief system that we intuitively apply without question. For example, when somebody says something hurtful to you, you react negatively.
